April Garris is an ordained minister and chaplain for The Pink Cross Foundation, a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to helping men and women transition out of the porn industry, and raising awareness about the truth behind the fantasy of porn. She is involved in various ministry outreaches, transitional counseling, and internet ministry.
As a former porn star, April understands first-hand the serious damage that this industry inflicts upon the men and women involved. After spending 6 months entrenched in the porn industry with her then husband, April struggled with drug abuse, self-mutilation, and a deep, dark depression which lasted for several years until she found healing grace through the power and love of Jesus Christ.
As a survivor of the sex industry, April is passionate about helping others to break free, not just from a life of porn, but also from addictions to it. She believes that the only way to true healing and freedom is through a relationship with Jesus Christ, and it is her goal to point women who have been victimized by the porn industry to Him, and allow His love to penetrate their lives.
She is also a contributing writer for the website The Porn Effect, using her own knowledge and experience to expose the reality behind porn and dissimilate the fantasy which keep so many people in bondage.
